Posted on Thu, 6 Jul 2017
Question: I am a male, age 66, live in California. In December of 2015, I was diagnosed with A Fib and Congestive Heart Failure. I am on the following prescriptions: Lasix 40 mg, Digoxin 125 mg, Spironalactone 12.5 mg, Simvastatin, 20 mg, Metoprolol, 50 mg, Xarelto 20 mg.
For the past couple days, I have a constant pressure on both sides of my lower, mid back area, below the ribs, hindering my breathing.
Any suggestions?

Brief Answer:
Sounds more of a muscular pain!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the responses to the above questions. I can now confidently weigh in.

Your pain seems more of muscular than related to an infectious process or fluid building up in the lungs. Difficulties breathing results from fear of breathing deep as this causes muscle pain. On this note, I recommend that you take a pain medication, tylenol at doses of 1000mg every 8hours for pain control. Report the progress to me. Some physical therapy and back exercises would help.

Should you develop a fever or a cough, immediately notify me for further action.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
