What Causes Constant Thick Mucus Dripping Down Throat?
Question: I have constant mucous which feels very thick, dripping down my throat. The ENT I saw said it was acid reflux but the endoscopy I had today did not show acid. This drip is constant...24 hours a day! I cannot seem to get an answer where the mucous is coming from. At times, I feel like I am choking or drowning the mucous is so excessive. I do not have heartburn or stomach pain or any symptom other than the mucous. Any ideas?
Brief Answer:
chronic allergic sinusitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
In my opinion, you might be having allergic rhino sinusitis.
If I were your treating doctor, I would have prescribed antihistamines + mucolytics combination drugs twice daily for 6 weeks. Neti pot and steam inhalation regularly will help you. Avoid oily and cold items.
Hope my answers have helped you. Pleased to help you further. Thanks.
