Question : I am constipated from taking Bactrim for and uti. I haven't had a bowel movement in 6 days. What should I do?
Brief Answer:
it's not supposed to cause it
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
bactrim is not supposed to cause constipation. Actually it may - sometimes - cause diarrhea. Perhaps you should check for other causes. Are you taking other medications? Are you drinking enough water and eating enough fiber?
If you're not nauseous or vomiting you can try some lactulose or similar drugs to help you relieve the constipation. Glycerine suppositories or enemas may help for immediate relief.
Kind Regards!
