What Causes Contents Of Stomach Coming Back Into Throat?
Question: Hi I have been experiencing this horrible upper stomach, middle of rib cage pain since around 1pm today. It's awful pain that it hurts to take a breath, lay down, sit or stand. But now in the last 20 minutes I'm having this very loud growling sounds; like I have to use the bathroom, however it comes up my throat and feels like I'm going to vomit. I'm not sure if it's gas or if I need to go to the hospital at this point.. Please help

As per your description, it looks like Reflux esophagitis.
The contents of the stomach are coming back into the throat. It is due to the food that you have consumed.
I prescribe Proton pump inhibitor like Rabeprazole along with Levosulpiride tablet and Syrup Sucralfate to my patients with similar complaints. You can get these medications with your primary doctor prescription.
Please avoid spicy food, cool drinks.
If vomiting occurs, injection Rantidine has to be taken.
Some people will develop loose motion. I add a Pre and Probiotic capsule for this.
Nothing to worry
It will come down.

Could that be, even though I am currently taking prescribed reflux medicine (for over 1 year now)?
