What Causes Continuous Burping In Infants?

Question: My 3 year old has been running fever off & on for 2 days now. He has no other symptoms at first. He said his ears or throat don't hurt either. He now has diarrhea but not watery just very loose & smells really bad. And now he has been burping all day & still continueing to & it sounds like he burps in his throw after he burps. Should I b concerned?
Brief Answer:
stomach bug probably viral
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
From your description it looks like your child has a viral infection.
This stomach infection is usually viral
Should settle in a few days.
I would suggest
1. Acetaminophen for fever every 6 hours.
2. Probiotic like saccharomyces for 3 days
3. Ondansetron before food for vomiting.
4. Oral rehydration solutions like pedialyte.
As long as he is active and passing urine atleast six times a day there is no need to worry.
Wishing your child good health.
Regards
Dr Arun
