What Causes Cough And Pain In Chest While Coughing?

Question: Dear Doctor,
I am facing a severe cough from last 1 mont ..i took cough syrup too but not working.Whenever i cough i get a pain in my chest.

After reading your clinical history it appears that you are having allergic post nasal discharge (PND) causing dry cough.

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice you
Steam Inhalation twice daily, Saline nasal spray thrice daily ,
Antiseptic Mouth Wash twice daily , Plenty of fluids &
Antihistaminic levocetirizine + Montelukast combination tablet at night till allergy subside .

You cough will subsides .
