What Causes Cough And Shortness Of Breath After Walking Long-distance?

Question: Hello Doctor...
From past so many weeks i am unable to breathe properly.
I feel shortness of breath and get into cough whenever i walk more / climb stairs / carry heavy stuff...

Why could this be?

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your concern.
Since your cardiac work up is normal, no need to worry for cardiac cause.
In my opinion, you are mostly having bronchitis.
So better to get done PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
It is needed for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
It will also tell you about severity of the disease.
And treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).

1. Are you smoker?
2. Do you have wheezing sound while breathlessness?
3. Do you have allergies?
