What Causes Coughing Up Green Mucus, Lightheadedness And Headache?
Mild viral infection of throat.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Chest infection would present in high grade fever, body ache and cough with sputum. It is also associated with severe breathlessness, which would require admission into a hospital.
2. It appears you have a possible sore throat, possibly secondary to viral infection. This pharyngitis/sore throat has caused coughing without sputum production. Excessive coughing has contributed to lightheaded feeling and weakness. Green mucus, light quantity could be due to sloughing of infection in pharynx. Rashes are a sign of viral infection, it could be related to it. All symptoms appear to be viral infection. Possibly a mild virus.
3. If i were your doctor, I would advise you to
a. Do salt water gargling, atleast 3-4 times a day.
b. Take lozenges to reduce throat irritation
c. Paracetamol for pain.
d. Take plenty of fluids with regular diet. Hydration and good diet necessary to avoid light headedness and low energy.
e. Mild to moderate activity necessary. Moving around improves immune system and gives positive energy feeling.
f. If there is no sputum production and excessive coughing is present, you can take codeine sulphate to suppress further cough production.
g. Any associated cold, will require steam inhalation twice a day along with antihistamines.
4. If fever starts, antibiotics like amoxycillin or cloxacillin with clavulonic acid maybe necessary. If you have any breathlessness, chest X-ray will be necessary. Also get a complete hemogram to look for anemia and ESR levels.
You need to get prescription from your doctor.
Hope it helps.

An additional anti-reflux therapy necessary.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking again.
If the symptoms are towards lower esophagus and mid chest, then I would think of possible gastritis with esophageal reflux.
Reflux of acid can cause gagging and coughing. Light headedness can be commonly seen in gastroesophageal reflux disease.
I would like to modify it from sorethroat to gastroesophageal reflux.
Continue the same treatment, along with pantoprazole and domperidone. It should relieve symptoms. Take atleast for 15 days. Antacids should help in short term. Hydration and regular food intake is necessary. Protein rich diet will be helpful.
Check hemogram to rule out anemia. Its more important. Check stool, if it darker in colour (if dark, possible internal bleeding). If not, not to worry. Hope you do not have any chronic diseases. Definitely, not chest infection, as there is no breathlessness or high grade fever.
Possibly low grade viral infection with gastroesophageal reflux disease. Reflux could have caused greenish mucus production and also a sour taste.
Hope it helps.
