What Causes Cracked Skin Around The Head Of The Penis?

default
Posted on Wed, 2 Dec 2015
Question: I have this split around the head of my penis. It was almost healed (one week, no sex, band aids and neosporin)and then I tried to have well lubricated sex this morning and I barely touched her with it and it split like in the photo today again.
It first appeared 1.5 weeks ago after one particular day we had sex in the pool, the next day we had sex in the ocean and then on the beach(maybe a little bit of sand involved). We generally have sex two times a day and it has been fine until now.
I have been recently (two weeks ago) tested and cleared of all stds.

Brief Answer:
This is a common problem and will heal but needs care.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.

Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Muhammad Ahmad. I have read your question completely, i understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

I have seen the picture closely, such cracks in skin are common specially with aggressive sexual activity and dry environments where skin gets dry.

This will heal up there is nothing worry about but yes it will take time, it would have externally healed up when you got involved in sexual activity again but you have to let it heal up deaper and stronger.

I would suggest you to avoid sexual activity for a month or so, it will be beneficial for you and your partner. Keep a good hygiene and keep the area moist and soft you can use simple things like petroleum gel to keep it moist.

Don't use soaps over it and try to avoid stretching of the skin. Avoiding erection as much as possible will let it heal quickly although its near to impossible but one can avoid situations which may result in erection.

You don't need any particular med for thag bandaids will work. But do let it healed for longer time 25..30 days so thag the skin gets back its strength and you face no problem.

Regards.

Dr.Muhammad Ahmad
