Brief Answer:
Soft tissue injury

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
If there is any swelling, restrictions of movement or severe pain then you might require an X ray of the spine. The bruise is suggestive of hematoma.
But it seems you just have muscular sprain or a soft tissue injury.
So you can start doing cold compress.
If you have pain you may also take an over the counter pain killer and start with a hot fomentation after 2 days.
If you have difficulty in sleeping due to pain you may take a combination of Acetaminophen and Tramadol.
I hope you would recover in 5-7 days.
Do consult an orthopedician for X-ray and MRI scan in case the pain is severe and swelling is increase.
Stay Healthy.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
