Brief Answer:
This requires examination by eye doctor.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.

I reviewed your history.

The symptom of dark floater on the corner of the eye indicate vitreous opacities. The common problems to be ruled out are vitreous hemorrhage, vitreous detachment, vitreous floaters....

Except for vitreous hemorrhage others do not require treatment and will resolve on their own. Small Vitreous hemorrhage will resolve and no treatment is required.

First I would advice you for a eye examination by ophthalmologist. Your eye doctor will perform a simple test called as indirect ophthalmoscopy to look for the cause of floaters and will advice you accordingly.

Keeping the eye resting is one of the treatment plan advised for this problem, but need to find out the underlying cause. Hence I advice you to consult your eye doctor for examination to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you

good morning Dr. Dadapeer k after a day of rest and a good night sleep i feel that that the floater on the corner of my left eye has diminish and faded by about 25 percent. Should i still see a doctor? or do you believe that a couple of more days of rest will help eliminate the floater . and is there any eye drops that will help the process. thank you for taking the time to respond. Have a nice day!!!

Brief Answer:
I feel you should consult your ophthalmologist for evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for the follow up question.

Floaters will decrease with rest and there are no eye drops or other effective treatment available for this condition.

However in all these cases we need to rule out retinal causes like retinal tear.
Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for evaluation to evaluate and treat the underlying cause.

Hope this answers your question and the information is helpful to you.

Thank you

good morning Dr. Dadapeer K. i took your advice and i went to see a optometric physician. After a thorough examination she ruled out retinal tear, hemorrhage, and detachment. both of my eyes are fine. since the examination i feel that the floater has shifted more to the center of my eye. she had me move the eye around a lot. is this normal? i also notice that when i wash my face with hot water i see flashes of light. i put a bottle of cold water around the eye and the flashes went away. since there is no damage to the eye and the floaters were caused by excessive crying will they resolve on their own? thank you for taking the time to answer all my questions. Have a great day!!!!

Brief Answer:
Since eye examination is normal no need to be worried.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thank you for the follow up question.

Since the eye examination was normal no need to be worried about it.
While examining the retina eye ball movements need to be done and no need to bother about it.

Since there are no problems in the eye floaters will decrease slowly and no further treatment is required.

Hope this answers your question.

Thank you
