What Causes Decreased Facial And Body Hair?
Question: Hi Doctor,
I am 26 years old and I still don't have proper Beard and Mustache. Very less hair growth on my face and that is also scattered on whole face. Also, very less hair growth on body. Almost no visible hair on chest. This is causing lack of confidence and inferior complex in me.
Now,
1. Is it going to affect my married life ?
2. Can you please suggest me if there is any solution/cure available for this problem and how much time and cost it can take to cure this problem?

Brief Answer:
Please check the male hormones
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the question and understand your concerns.
Decreased facial and body hair can be due to 2 reasons
1. Decreased male hormones (testosterone) in body
2. Decreased sensitivity of skin to male hormones
So to answer your questions you need to do blood tests - serum testosterone, LH, FSH and prolactin.
If there is a hormonal problem, treatment is there. If tests are normal, treatment options are limited, but you won't be having any sexual issues. The treatment is not very expensive.
Hope I have answered your questions. If you have any further queries I will be happy to help you.

Thanks Doctor.
I asked for tests to Laboratory and they need clarification regarding serum testosterone test. Basically, there are two kinds of tests available Free Testosterone and Total Testosterone. Which type of test you suggest ?
Also, Since this thread will be automatically closed after 2 days and I'll not be able to get reports of the tests by then, can you suggest me any good doctor in Delhi/Gurgaon to whom I can consult further and get the treatment done ?
