                                            Question : hello,
I have been prescribed norethisterone for 5 days to start my period, since i did not have a period for 7 months due to PCOS. I have taken my last pill on Friday and still no period 3 days later. Is this normal? I am trying to conceive and was told to start taking clomid on 2nd day of period. Is it possible that my periods won't start even after taking Norethisterone?

                                    Brief Answer:
Yes periods can take 5-7 days to start.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
In PCOS, due to hormonal imbalance the periods are often irregular and delayed. After taking norethisterone it takes 5-7 days for the bleeding to start. In case of a severe problem the periods may not start even after taking norethisterone. It is best to wait for a week more for your periods. Clomid will help after you have regular periods.
