Question: DEAR DOC..MY GIRLFRIENDS PERIOD WAS DUE 28TH MAY SHE DIDNT SEE HER PERIOD. ON THE 30TH MAY WE HAD SEX AND DID COITUS BUT WASNT SURE SO SHE TOOK 2 PILLS OF POSTINOR 2 TWO HOURS LATER.. SHE STILL HASNT SEEN HER PERIOD AS OF 8TH XXXXXXX .SHOULD I BE WORRIED??

It is important to know if your girlfriend has been having regular periods for the last 6 months and based on that her expected periods were to be on 28th May. Taking Postinor can cause further delay in periods ans sometimes a medical condition or stress induced anxiety can also delay periods. It is most likely that she may not be pregnant but this needs confirmation by doing tests.

I suggest she does home pregnancy test at least 15 days after date of probable unprotected sex (May 30th). This is because the test is most accurate about 15 days after conception. So she may have to wait until XXXXXXX 14th and then if the test is positive, please consult your doctor.

she felt nauseous some days after she took the pills but she is okay now but she had diarheoa too..can this happen if no sperm entered and you take postinor pills?

It is possible that she had some stomach infection due to which she felt nauseous with episodes of diarrhoea. It can happen without sperms entering her. Taking postinor pills may be unrelated. She should be taking home cooked healthy food for some days.

Symptoms experienced early during pregnancy include a missed period, headaches, tender breasts, nausea and lower backaches. This may not exactly be seen in all women. In some there is little spotting by the second week after unprotected sex due to implantation.

ok doctor i bought pregnancy test kits for her and she just tested and was just one line its been 13 days we had sex counting from the 30th..can we get accurate results at this time? she will take her second test early in the morning tomorow
