Question: Hi. I am a 19 year old female. I had my last periods on 18 December and then 12 January. I usually have a 28 day period cycle. I took Norethisterone 4 tablets on 2nd, 3rd , 4th and 5th Feb, one day each. I had sex (protected) for the first time on 5th Feb and then on 6th Feb. I haven't gotten my periods yet. Is it normal?

Brief Answer:
Normal thing. Wait for period.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:

1) According to your information, your period due date was around 6th to 10th Feb. However, you did protected sex (quite SAFE sex) and took 4 Norethisterone tabs. In this case, chance of pregnancy is extremely LOW or RARE.

2) Your delayed period is NORMAL thing. It is due to SIDE EFFECT of the pills as a result of hormonal imbalance and mental stress. I suggest you to await another 1-2 weeks to get period naturally.

3) Take healthy diet, avoid mental stress, need sound sleep and maintain genital hygiene properly. These will help to induce period naturally.

Practice safe sex in future. Good luck.

Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.

My boyfriend had inserted his penis on Feb 2, but he did not cum inside me, and it wasn't fully inserted. Should I worry?

Brief Answer:
Safe sex. Don't be worried much.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for follow up query.

Last week of period cycle is quite SAFE for sexual activity if your previous cycle was quite regular. Here, your chance of pregnancy is EXTREMELY RARE or NEGLIGIBLE even with insertive intercourse on 2nd Feb as it was safe day.

Don't be worried much. Wait for upcoming period for 7-10 days. Extra stress can delay your period. Therefore, be relaxed and take sound sleep.

Hope, I have answered your query. Kindly, close the discussion.

All the best and good luck.

Regards,
Dr S Patra
