What Causes Diarrhea After Having Flagyl For IBS?

Question: I have been in flagyl and cippro for 5 days now...halfway through a 10 day course of possible diverticulosis or IBS. I had diarrhea yesterday, and felt dehydrated, dizzy and urinary frequency. I think this is a reaction to antibiotics and want to stop taking them today.....is this ok?
Brief Answer:
it is safe to stop
Detailed Answer:
Hi mam,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.
Diarrhoea is a common side effects of antibiotics and you are taking two strong antibiotics. Yes It is reaction to the drugs. You may safely stop the drugs without any side effects.
I suggest you to consult your doctor before stopping and discuss regarding the benefit of continuing drug over stoppage or drug may be changed . Diarrhoea could be stopped by using probiotics. Continue drinking water preferably with oral rehydration solution . Increase frequency of micturition is unlikely a side effect of your drugs.
Hope I have answered your query . If any further queries are there I would love to help.
