What Causes Diarrhea After Having Medicines Post Dental Extraction?
Question: Hello Doctor,
My name is XXXXX , 29 years old. I have septron allergy. Let me describe my situation here ,
I had a dental extraction ( wisdom tooth, lower left side.). It went fine and the doc prescribed the following medicine to me :-
- Diclofenac 1-1-1
- Chymoral forte 1-1-1 ( before meal)
- novamox-lb 500 1-1-1
- pantop 40 1-0-1 ( Optional , in case I encounter stomach troubles)
Nb:- I did not take pantop for first 4 days , yesterday I bought it and took in morning and night. Other medications are done by yesterday.
Now for past 2 days I have acute dysentery , even when i take a glass full of water , i need to go to restroom. My stool is completely watery and its more like opening a tap ( sorry , did not knew how else to explain it ) . This is making me unable to go to work , kindly advise :)

Thanks for writing in.
If you are having diarrhea with prescribed medicines then I would stop novamox lb & switch over to cefixime. Please inform your doctor about this symptoms and discuss about changing antibiotic.
In the meanwhile drink plenty of fluids. Add yoghurts and other probiotic supplements. Continue the rest of medicines and also take bananas in your diet.

Thanks for your advice doctor , my medicines are over , I mean novamox-lb is over. I am taking lots of fluid and resting well. Can you suggest me some meds which can help me recover faster ? Am asking this coz I have already took enough leaves and I need to be at work least by tomorrow.
