What Causes Difficulty In Conceiving?
Question: Sir, I am a 24 year old married girl trying to get pregnant. But due to irregular periods I think I am not able to get pregnant. So I consulted a gynaecologist, she has prescribed Crina NCR 10mg and GLYCOMET 500 S.R. and asked me to visit her again on second day of my next period. She also mentioned that she will give me an injection during next visit for getting pregnant. I am little sceptical of any side effects to my body and worried whether I am getting the correct treatment. Is this correct and whether will it have any adverse effects on my child bearing ability in future? Please advice. Looking forward for the reply.

Brief Answer:
Irregular periods are due to various reasons
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,goodday.
Thanks for the information.
I understand your concern.
As I told you in previous query there are different causes for irregular periods like :-
1)Thyroid abnormalities.
2)PCOD.
3)Overweight or obesity.
4)Stress.
5)Anaemia or low HB.
6)Any abnormal prolactin levels.
It is good to know that there is no PCOD or thyroid abnormalities.
Considering your height the optimum weight should be 162-100=62 kg.(We have to substract 100 from height to get optimum
weight)
So slight overweight of about 2 kg might also be the reason for irregular periods.
Avoid stress and anxiety regarding the pregnancy or any as it causes hormonal imbalance and might delay the fertility further by making periods irregular.
Also get HB done to rule out anaemia.
Also check for serum prolactin levels as they are also one of the causes for irregular periods and infertility.
Yes you are on correct line of treatment like
and the drugs which are prescribed to you and the injection which your doctor is going to give are not associated with any negative effects on the body or any future pregnancy.
The metformin is a drug to which plays a important role in increasing the conception chances in those with irregular periods.
The crina NCR supports the endometrium and helps in maintainence of pregnancy.
Usually the infertility treatment is started if the pregnancy does not occur even after one year of unprotected regular intercourse.
As you are only 8 months since marriage still there is time to try for natural pregnancy.
But meanwhile the cause for irregular periods as I explained above should be evaluated.
So I suggest you to avoid stress regarding pregnancy or any.
Adapt healthy lifestyle like exercise daily and healthy nutritional diet.Avoid high calorie foods and junk foods.
Weight reduction plays a important role in regularisation of cycles.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss further.
Best regards...Dr.Srilatha
