What Causes Difficulty In Opening Left Eye Along With Watery Painful Eyes?

Question: Since the past couple of weeks, when i wKe up in the middle of the night, i am unable to open my left eye, it is with great diffculty that it opens and when it does, it is red& painful and it keeps watering, this happens for atleast half an hour, however in the daytime its fine through the day. Can you please suggest what it could be and a cure for it. Thanks

As per your symptoms you seem to have mild to moderate bacterial conjunctivitis.

All you currently need is sterile water irrigation of the involved eye followed by instillation of antibiotic eye drops like zymer/gatifloxacin 2 drops 2nd hourly.
