What Causes Difficulty Swallowing With Feeling Of Food Stuck In Chest?
This is due to chronic gastrointestinal tract issues.
Detailed Answer:
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!
Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.
Probable causes:-
You had got GERD for years. It is actually the reflux of gastric corrosive acid (HCl) straight up into the esophagus and it causes a continuous irritation of the mucosa of the food pipe (esophagus). This irritated mucosa wants to heal up. Again and again this process repeats with resultant strictures formation, loss of tone of the lower esophageal sphincter and and motility of the esophageal muscles is also disrupted. It leads to a deranged peristaltic movements of the bolus of food down the esophagus en route to stomach giving a feeling as if food is stuck somewhere in chest.
If a patient has thyroid disease e.g. goiter, it adds up to the issues and leads to a feeling of stuck food into the esophagus.
Another disease very closely related is Achlasia Cardia (constriction of the esophagus occurs) that also leads to the same symptoms and we sometimes need to treat it surgically (e.g Heller's myotomy) if balloon dilatation is failed, tried through an endoscope.
Your breast issues:-
You definitely need to consult your physician to test you for this breast growth as it may lead to a cancer too. So early mammogram and treatment is very appropriate at this time.
Your pain in breast may be due to this swelling or lump (abnormal growth).
On defecation, the pain and discomfort is not related actually to breast. This is actually a cocktail of symptoms associated all with your digestion issues.
You had been with acid reflux for long. It causes actually stomach or duodenal Ulcers. That hurt and the pain you feel on left side may be due to that ulcers. Your Gastroentrologist will help you with that.
If I was your treating physician I would have prescribed you with Dexilant for controlling stomach acidity and pain on left side.
Take plenty of water, Citrucel dietary fiber supplement and fruit milk shakes. You need fluids more because I have seen my patients with these issues being reluctant to get their meals and they get deficiency of nutrients with time.
Hope I answered all of your health concerns . If you have further questions, feel free to contact me anytime. Always write my name in start of your question in future, and I will get back to you in no time. If satisfied, please give a five Star rating and don't forget to Close the discussion.
Have a wonderful time ahead.
Best Regards!
