What Causes Diminished Vision In One Eye?
right eye - 2002
eye power before surgery: -7
after surgery - 0.25
Left eye - 2016
eye power before surgery: -2.25
after surgery 0 (left eye is absolutely fine now)
Problem: I can read clearly with my right eye, but with a halo/cloud surrounding the lights. I feel my vision is little dull compared to my left eye.
My right vision remains the same, even if I wear the glasses.
I can still see halo surrounding the objects, but it disappears when I see through a pin-hole/small hole.
Doctor said it is the case of amblyopia. Can my right eye vision improve?
Can it match with left eye?
If there is any defect in my right-eye retina, is there any chance of improving the vision?
Retinal examination should be done.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for query.
A large retrospective study of LASIK patients found that halos were reported by 30%, glare by 27%, and starbursts by 25%. Glare years after LASIK surgery is usually the result of enlarged pupils or problems with the corneal flap created during surgery. Sometimes glare is the result of a residual refractive error.
However, If vision does not improve overtime, blurry vision may be the result of a residual refractive error. This can be corrected with glasses or contacts. Chronic dry eyes caused by LASIK may also cause blurry vision.
Please let me know if you feel the lack of tears or dryness in your right eye as compared to left.
A sudden appearance of floater specks that seem to drift through your field of vision. Flashes of light in one or both eyes. Blurred vision. Gradually reduced side (peripheral) vision can al be suggestive of retinal damage.
Problem is that when it comes to eye most of the patients present with same symptoms.
So a retinal scan should be done to rule out the retinal problem.
Please attach a photo of both eyes looking in the front direction.
Awaiting the details
Thanks.
