What Causes Dizziness After Doing Exercises?
I am a 25 year old female with a BMI of 30. I have recently begun exercising after being somewhat sedentary work for a few months. The previous 2 times I did high intensity cardio, after 35mins I became very dizzy, saw "stars", felt nausea, light-headed, and fainted while sitting down. My skin became cool, clammy, and pale. I had eaten adequately and was well hydrated before and during the work outs. A similiar series of events occured a few years ago when I was 22. I went to my primary care physician and they performed an ECG which revealed an abnormality. I then underwent a stress test which revealed no abnormalities. I was just told that my heart beat gets fast quickly because I don't exercise enough and that I have slight hypotension - and that I could increase salt intake. I have checked for orthostatic hypotension, but my blood pressure is much lower when I am laying down vs. standing up. I do notice the onset of the most serious dizziness comes from when I am doing up-down exercises, such as burpees. I am trying to lose weight and am frustrated that I am unable to workout like I'd like without getting ill. I feel like I could work out harder as I am able to still speak easily before I pass out so I do not believe it is complete overexertion. My primary care physician quit and now I am unable to see a doctor for 2 months. They suggested going to urgent care, but the urgent care facilities told me to go to an ER. But an ER is for life-threatening emergencies I thought? Should I go to the ER? I don't know what to do! Please advise.
Visit ER once; start cardio with minimal settings

Hello
My name is Dr Muhammad Ali Rauf & i will look into your problem.
I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way. Two things we need to check. First baseline tests to confirm health status. Second, start exercise from minimum levels.
It would be better to visit ER once and get a baseline labs done to see if there is any abnormality. If it turns out to be normal then FIRST things you need to do is RELAX. Stress/anxiety almost always aggravates the problem.
Always start exercise from lowest levels so that body can adopt to it. It your case i would suggest you to start doing exercise from low levels and less time. Then gradually increase duration and level. In this way your body will adapt to it and hypotension will not occur. Always keep well hydrated before & after exercise to avoid hypovolemia(decreased fluid volume). As exercise causes increased fluid loss in sweating. Hopefully these measures will help you to slowly regain the capacity to perform sternous exercises.
Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
You are welcome
