What Causes Dizziness After Walking For A While?
Question: I came back from a long walk with the dog. The day temperature had become hotter as we walked home.Sat in the chair and felt a sudden spinning dizziness mainly on the left side of my head, and several little black spots seem to fly into the window like a row of little birds. All over in seconds. Have had occasional dizzy spells before . Recent cataract surgery. 86 years old. High blood pressure under control with zanextra and olmetec. Otherwise well and active. No illness and no other medications. Thanks, XXXX

Brief Answer:
Most likely due to loss of electrolytes
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for choosing HCM for your query!
As you are saying that dizziness was there when you reached back after a walk in hot weather it can be because of electrolyte lost in sweating in hot conditions. Most likely due to loss of electrolytes you felt dizzy.
However dizziness is usually caused either due to
Heart-It could be presyncope
Nervous system- Decreased supply of blood to brain due to clogged carotid artery.
Internal ear-inner ear problem like vestibular neuritis.
Electrolyte disbalance-Most likely cause in your scenario.
Tests advised
Serum electrolyte
carotid artery doppler
Inner ear examination by e.n.t specialist
