default
Posted on Mon, 8 May 2017
Question: hI, MY NAME IS XXXX, i'm 79 years old.
I have diabetis type2 and also have history of high blood pressure.
My sugar level is under control, my blood pressure after many years of been high ( I was taking
benicar 40 mg once a day) became normal and I didn't take medication for 6 month.
But recently i started feel dizzy, my blood pressure went high (170/100) and my doctor prescribed
valsataran 160mg twice a day.
My question is: isn't it what i should do or should I start with lower dosage and increase it gradually?
Thank you, doctor

Hello,
I have gone carefully through your concern.
I would recommend to start valsartan 160 mg/ daily than increase the dose to twice daily if it will be necessary.
I find it a high dose 160 mg twice daily.
