What Causes Dizziness And Swollen Legs While On Norvasc?

Question: Why is it if I take name brand meds, i.e. Norvasc with no problem, that I can't generic of the same med without side effects; dizziness, legs & feet swelling, etc. I am 84 yrs old and only take synthroid and a baby aspirin

I am so sorry to hear about the difficulty you have mentioned with the generic form of Norvasc. These are normally side effects of amlodipine(Norvasc). In strict terms, there should be no differences in action and side effects profile when both drugs are used together. However, this is not always the case and generics drugs often seem to be of lower grades. To me, I will recommend that you stick to the brand form the produces best results though I know this comes at an added cost which cannot be ignored.

Please, what are your regular blood pressure numbers now?

In all, this shouldn't happen and it is atypical. However, branded products are often better because of commercial purposes but so at an added cost. I recommend you stick to teh branded product for safety and best results.
