Question: I think I have a heart rythm disorder for last couple of days and need your urgent help. I feel my heartbeat increases suddenly anytime if the day especially during high noise or stress. I also feel dizzy, tingling in my left hand, slight breathlessness with a feeble pain near heart and some buildup of gas near my right side end. Please suggest.

Brief Answer:
May be due to anxiety, but need to be evaluated in ER.

Detailed Answer:
Hello -

Some of the symptoms you are describing sound like they are from panic attack or anxiety, such as your heart beat increasing (from surges of adrenaline) when there is a psychological or physical (such as loud noise) stress, and sensation of tingling (which can happen when people hyperventilate). So from your description, this sounds like anxiety/panic symptoms. However, the only way to sort it out is to go to the ER now where they can draw cardiac enzymes, do an EKG, and monitor your heart continuously to see what might be going on. Because sometimes there can be an underlying abnormal rhythm.

If it turns out not to be related to a heart rhythm problem or heart ischemia (poor blood flow to the heart) problem, then an anti anxiety medication may help you.

But do go in to make sure.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarification after you get checked out.
