What Causes Dizziness Post Meditation?

default
Posted on Tue, 3 Feb 2015
Question: Good morning - I woke up at 5AM and while meditating/praying in bed & drinking my coffee I had a dizzy spell. I've been having dizzy spells off and on for several weeks. Also had blurred vision & tried blinking it "away," but still a bit blurry - even with my glasses on... I have tingling in my back & my right arm was really sore when I woke up. This isn't the first time this has happened... however, all these things are adding up to signs of a possible stroke, so I'm worried. I am a blood pressure med that I take daily. So....I went to the internet & am thinking I am kinda "stupid" for thinking possible stroke. I am 56 yrs old, in okay shape and usually healthy as a horse! Should I seek treatment? I have a feeling you will say yes...right NOW! Guess I'm scared & never get sick, so I'm trying to be tough. Thanks!

Brief Answer:
Stroke is a minor possibility.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

In my opinion causes of your symptoms are other than stroke ( but stroke could not be excluded totally) and these include vertigo, changes in blood pressure ( orthostatic hypotension).

Vertigo may be related to inner ear disfunction.

There is need to measure your blood pressure for a couple of days in different positions ( laying and sitting).

I think you should consult your Doctor, in order to get a proper evaluation of your condition, but I think you have not to be scared too, because seems there is a minor concern that have solution.

If your Doctor after evaluation doubts anything related to stroke, you should undergo brain imaging too.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
