What Causes Dizzy Spells And Numbness In Feet?

(Hello, I have been having alarming symptoms lately however I having a hard time getting care. About 3 months ago I started getting dizzy spells. Then about 8 weeks ago I started to noticed a crawling sensation in my legs and on the right side of my head. Then it turned into numbness in my feet and cramps in my legs and feet. The crawling sensation now feels like my legs are in soda water and the sensation has moved up. It is all the way to my hip on my left leg. It has increased on my scalp, now my nose and right arm by my elbow. I called my Neurologist about 4 weeks ago and the soonest they will see me is November. I went to my primary doctor and they said I need to see my Neurologist. I am scared that waiting that long is going to cause damage since it has already increased this quickly. Do you think this matter is urgent or is waiting until November okay?)
The doctor that answered me back said that there are tests and blood work that can be done to help in figuring out what is going on.
I was hoping you could name some of these test so that I may request them from my family doctor to already have with me when I see the Neurologist to make it easier for them. I have already had my TSH and T4free test, I was the tested for diabetes. My family doctor requested an MRI to be done in a month but I was not sure if that is a general MRI or if there are specific MRI scans I should get. Thank you for your assistance.
Following investigations would be helpful.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your symptoms and have also looked at the previous reply of a neurologist on this forum.
I know you are anxious, however, i would like to reassure you that these symptoms do not suggest a serious neurological illness. But I would prefer you having a neurologist consultation sooner rather than later.
In the meanwhile, following investigations would be helpful:
Vitamin B12 level,
Vitamin D level,
Thyroid profile,
Anti-nuclear antibody,
Serum calcium and phosphorus,
Liver function tests,
Renal function tests.
In addition, nerve conduction studies, MRI of brain and spine should also be done. This way, you would be ready with all possible information, when you consult the neurologist.
I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
