Brief Answer:
Continue treatment, improvement with time

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

I do understand this could be very disturbing and stressful as an experience. However, I still think you really do not need to be discouraged.

There are many treatment options when it comes to cancers. Your oncologist in the long run will for sure suggest most of these. Radiotherapy, chemotherapy and use of specific hormones are generally available options.

Surgery for sure was the initial step in your treatment process. It is not surprising that you should still be feeling a bit bad after the procedure.

I think with time, and the other drugs and treatment options that shall be associated, the situation shall get better. You just need to exercise a little bit more patience with regards to the response to treatment.

I will NOT advice dropping treatment. The consequences could be at times rapid spread of the cancer and deterioration of your health status. I suggest you remain calm, positive and compliant to your drug regimens.

Kind regards as I wish you the best of health.

Brief Answer:
Treatment for abrupt stop unavailable, protective

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the update. I am sorry for the misunderstanding and I clearly get your concern now.

I am afraid determining exactly when the drainage is going to stop would be a bit difficult for two main reasons. First, as of now, there is no drug available to cause the drainage to stop immediately. Secondly, making to stop abruptly would not be the best thing to do. Draining is also protective for your system, as the fluid coming out might accumulate inside the body, and in that case, would instead cause problems in case of excessive accumulation.

I do believe the amount of fluid shall reduce progressively, and its imperative you get your follow up from the hospital. I understand its difficult to manage. But however, its still early in my opinion to get treatment from home.

Kind regards,

Dr Bain
