Brief Answer:
Prostate enlargement is a possibility.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. After 40 years there is possibility of prostate enlargement. This can give less pressure on urination. Pushing objects can give damage to urethra. This one can't be examined by a general practitioner as examination with a cystoscope will be needed. This is done by urologist. So better to consult an urologist.

Ultrasound examination will help to rule out prostate enlargement. PSA blood test will be helpful in finding out whether it is benign.

In case of benign enlargement taking drugs like tamsulosin and dutasteride will help to shrink the prostate gland and to improve symptoms.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
