What Causes Dry Cough Causing Chest And Arm Pain?
Question: I take warfarin 5 mg. I have a dry cough that is hard to get up.I have to get up and shake it loose. I also have COPD. My chest, back, and arms ache from the coughing. I also have a blood clot in my left ventricle due to scar tissue from a massive heart attack 15 years ago.
Brief Answer:
Suspected exarcebation of COPD...
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Having dry cough is related to COPD exacerbation. You need to contact your doctor as soon as possible as further evaluation of your lungs functioning is needed to exclude respiratory problems:
- X-ray of the chest
- respiratory function test
- physical examination
Depending on the results, specific treatment will be prescribed.
Meanwhile, I advise to:
- increase the dose of the pump you might be currently taking for COPD
- use extra pillow to sleep at night
Hope it was of help! Let me know if you have further queries!
