Question: Hi. 42 year old female. Started with horrible dry cough about 3 weeks ago. Having night sweats but no fever. Chills daily. Disgusting tasting mucous coming up but so thick cannot spit it out. Almost nothing being excreted through the nose. Sometimes actually feel great. Ran 4 miles this morning then back with chills again.

Brief Answer: Infections which need antibiotic Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for your query. Sometimes fever in infections can present with chills alone without body temperature being much raised. Based on the symptoms you have I consider you to have upper respiratory tract infection which may proceed to lower respiratory tract infection if untreated. I suggest you consult your treating doctor who can examine, confirm the infection and place you on suitable antibiotics which would cure the infection. Meanwhile you can take Tab Tylenol 500 mg twice daily after food for three days to control the chills. Wish you good health. Regards,
