What Causes Dry Eyes And Fatigue During Season Change?
metabolic changes due to weather.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma'm, Hi! welcome to HCM! It is not unusual to feel these changes with weather change. these are metabolic changes, as it is extreme cold in XXXXXXX that causes slowing of metabolism, and then with change of weather, metabolism takes time to tune to new climate whereas we pick up activities faster. so there is general fatigue but that can be taken care of by few easy methods.
1. increase your warm up activities.
2. increase your vitamin D to once a week.
3. increase your calcium to 1200 mg /d
4. increase your b12 to 1500 mcg /d
5. increase omega 3 fatty acids , nuts, fruits, soups & salads for these three months ie feb, march and april.
6. you may even increase your thyroxine by 12.5 to 25 mcg and keep your TSH nearer to .4
Make these changes in consultation with your primary physician.
regards!
Since cabbage and cauliflower are winter seasonal vegetables , my consumption of these goes up. Could restricting them to once a week prevent my symptoms ? as I have only heard that they are bad for hypothyroidism but am still having them regularly.
Any restriction in certain foods?
My face also becomes very red throughout the year when I go out in the sun or due to heat inspite of using sunscreen spf50 . Can there be any link between my thyroid and these symptoms?
you have answered your own query.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma'm, Cabbage and cauliflower will interfere with thyroid functioning. Avoid them as much as possible. Another is SPF 50 sunscreen, they do not allow any sun rays entering your body and do not allow natural synthesis of vitamin D.
Food restrictions are not much except eat what is healthy. High carb, high calorie food makes you feel good for the moment; but then they suck out energy from you. So eat food rich in calcium, minerals, vitamins and proteins.
Regards!
