What Causes Dry Eyes And Uneasiness To Close And Open The Eyes?
My eyes are dry and at all the time my eyelid stuck to my eyeball. It is uneasiness to close and open the eyes.
During a day they are bad and it irritates me and sometimes very sensitivity to bright light. Went to two eye specialist doctors and they both said it is Dry eye & Allergic infection , so I need to apply eye drops and ointment for a week (???).
But the problem still exist, I do not see any change in the result. Below is the prescribed medicine for the eye problem…
Frist Doctor prescribed the medicine:
1. Moxtif-k eye drops apply 3 times a day
2. ECO tears – apply 3 times a day
Second Doctor prescribed the medicine:
1. ASRUGEN eye drops : apply 2 times in a day
2. Oflacin-DX eye drops: apply 2 times in a day
3. Ocupol-D ointment : apply only in night
So I have no help from doctors, you are my only hope.
Thanks.

The prescription by second doctor is required to be used.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic
I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.
I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are having dry eye with allergy.
This requires treatment by the use of artificial tears for dry eyes and steroids for allergy.
Both Asrugen and Eco tears are artificial tears eye drops and you need to use any one of them. But these need to be used at least 4-6 times per day.
Moxtif K is combination of antibiotic and non steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, ketorolac and it is not required in your case.
Oflacin-Dx is a combination of antibiotic and steroid and steroid being a potent anti-allergic drug can be used.
Ocupol-D is combination of antibiotic and steroid and this can be used.
Hence the prescription given by your second doctor is in right direction. But since you are using steroids you need to use them for a short period till the allergic symptoms are relieved in severity.
Once the severity is reduced you need to start anti-allergic drugs like Olopatadine eye drops.
Please do remember that both dry eyes and allergy of the eyes are chronic conditions and require treatment for 3-4 weeks.
Hence I advice you to continue treatment with
1. Artificial tears like Asrugen eye drops 4-6 times per day.
2. Olopatadine eye drops two times per day.
3. Oflacin Dx eye drops two times per day for one week only.
4. Ocupol D eye ointment one time per day in night for one week only.
Please remember you need to stop the last two medications after one week as advised by your doctor as these two are steroids and the first two medications need to be continued for 3-4 weeks.
Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.
Thank you
