What Causes Dull Pain On Right Side Of Abdomen?
Question: I have dull pain started on right side mid abdomen around to right side ribs had ct scan of kidney, gall bladder liver and pancress nothing found. now pain is also in left side mid back and lower left abdomen pain is a dull pain. I am also on oral thrush meds almost cleared up. have blood taste in mouth whats going on. Makes me very nervous. Also the pain in mid abdomen has been going on since september wasnt as bad then.

Hello and thanks for your query. It is good that you had the CT scan and all that looked okay, however there are several other things that could be going on. Was the CT scan done of just your abdomen or was the pelvis included. The left lower abdomen pain could come from the pelvis and may not have shown up on an abdominal CT. It could also be an ulcer or problem with your colon. It would be good for you to see a gastroenterologist and get an upper endoscopy and a colonoscopy if you have not had them recently. It is also possible that something is going on with your spine. Problems in the spine like disc disease can cause pain that gets referred around to the abdomen. Spine xrays would be good to evaluate for this. My other question would be why are you having thrush? Have you been tested for HIV or other illnesses that may cause immune suppression? Please see your doctor soon to get some further testing done to see what is causing your pain.

the ct scan was of my kidney gall bladder pancreas and liver. The thrush was brought on by dry mouth caused by meds. Hiv neg
Also have irritable Bowel Syndrom in case that is important info. before thrush also had acid reflux. Had throat scope all normal and chest x-ray good also
