What Causes Ear Congestion And Excessive Sweating After Using Trusopt, Ganfort And Enidin?
Question: Afternoon Doctor, my husband has glaucoma and requires a trabeculectomy. Before operation, pressure needs to drop & was prescribed Trusopt, Ganfort & Enidin drops for eyes. He now feels ears blocked, ringing etc & yesterday was pale, clammy, sweating with splitting headache. Has been to see our local Doctor
who flushed out ears & prescribed drops Soframycin. Operation is scheduled in a weeks time & we have to travel approx. 5 hrs drive to hospital (we live small country town with only one doctor). Are ear problems associated with eye medication & what will help over the next week if symptoms persists? Thanking you

Brief Answer:
Anti glaucoma treatment to continue.
Detailed Answer:
My Dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
The three drops you mentioned have to be continued to control pressure and usually do not cause such ear symptoms, the ear problem may be coincidental. The paleness and sweating should not be ignored and a cardiac specialist should see him,or you can ask your local doctor to monitor his blood pressure and he can refer to cardiologist if necessary.
If cardiac symptoms continue then some change in medication is mandatory.
Consult your physician for bp monitoring.
