Question: female 50, have had blood pressure monitored last year for 24 hours due to previous high readings taken over a week yet was told this was fine. just done tonight and 159/ 117 was 185 / 119 earlier but slowly coming down

I read your query and understood your concerns.

Your BP is elevated and need to be treated with a healthy life-style and medical treatment.

If you were my patient I would recommend to do as follows:
- Reduce salt intake
- Reduce caffeine, energy drink and alcohol (to less than 1 glass of wine per day)
- Loose weight
- Increase physical therapy
- Start treatment with ARB-S ( Valsartan) and diuretics
