What Causes Elevated WBC Count?

Question: my wife was just told that her white blood cells are elevated. what would cause this and what an we do to bring them back in line.
how long does this process take?

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your wife has high wbc count.
Most common cause of high wbc count is some infection. However leukemia can also leads to high wbc count but chances are rare.

If it is due to infection then antibiotics are needed to control that. It will come back to normal within a week. But other causes required specific treatment.

Please send me her complete blood count report so that I can help you to find exact cause. Then she should take treatment accordingly.
