Hello XXXXXX
Thanks for writing to HCM

Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is an enzyme found in almost all body tissues.
ALP is made mostly in the liver, bone and some are made in the intestines and kidneys.
There are many different forms of ALP called isoenzymes. The structure of the enzyme depend on the site of its production in the body.

It is important to know your symptoms and reason for investigation.
It is mainly used to diagnose bone disease, liver, gallbladder or bile duct disease, pain abdomen, parathyroid gland disease, vitamin D deficiency etc.

You need clinical correlation and further investigations to find out the underlying cause.
Treatment depend upon further investigation reports.
