What Causes Elevated Bilirubin Levels In Blood While Treating Acute Hepatitis B?
Question: Sir i am suffering from jaundice since two weeks my Total Billirubin 10 days Before Was 6.48 direct billirubin was 4.19 and indirect billirubin was 2.29 sgpt 129 and sgot 104 and HBsAg positive Anti - HBc IgM reactive and Anti - HBE non reactive my doctor tell me every thing is ok give me udiliv 300 thrice a day now today my total billirubin is 9.3 and direct 8.0 and indirect 1.30 and sgpt 1834 prothrombin time control is 14.0 and prothrombin time test is 16.0 isi value 1.1 and inr 1.16 please suggest i am worried about acute Fluminant Hbv and please tell me what are the chance to get rid of virus is my condition serious.

You have history of acute hepatitis B. So high bilirubin level and high SGPT level are common. But most of the time acute hepatitis is self limited and patients recover within few days or week.
Fulminant hepatitis is the rapid development of hepatocellular dysfunction, specifically coagulopathy and mental status changes (encephalopathy). You prothombin time and INR is normal so its not the fulminant hepatitis.
But you should regularly monitor your SGPT, bilirubin and INR till you get recovery.
Specific antiviral treatment is not required in most of the cases. Continue Udiliv as per advise. Avoid hard work and sternous exercise. Take low fat diet & high protein diet. Drink plenty of water. You will recover within few days. Don't worry just be relaxed.

Sir please tell me it has been 12 days since i diagnosed hbsag positive and 2 times 10 day before my inr was 0.96 and now today is 1.16 is any chances to develop a Fluminant hepatic failure please clear my doubt i am too much worried..
