What Causes Elevated Blood Urea Nitrogen Level?

default
Posted on Wed, 29 Apr 2015
Question: My BUN Creatine has steadily increased from 6.7 in 2010 to 14.0 most recently in December of last year. It's gone up a little bit each blood test. I know this test is associated with the kidneys, but I don't know what can cause this steady increase.

Brief Answer:
within normal limits

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

BUN within 20 is considered to be normal. Steady rise could be reflection of your weight, amount of protein intake and also your hydration status. Do not worry about it.
As for further work up I recommend you to get a urine routine done to know the kidney function

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Regards
