Please find causes for increased creatinine below

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
I assume you are interested in know the reasons for increased levels of serum creatinine. Creatinine levels are associated with kidney function. If there is abnormal kidney function then the creatinine levels go up. This can happen due to a number of causes, acute and chronic.

Acute or sudden and temporary rise of creatinine can be due to
1. dehydration
2. low blood volume
3. intake of a large amount of proteins like meat
4. intake of certain medications
5. acute renal failure

Chronic rise of creatinine includes
1. diabetes
2. vascular disease (conditions that affect the heart, arteries and veins, such as coronary heart disease or stroke)
2. heart failure
4. high blood pressure (hypertension)
5. urinary tract obstructions (where something blocks the normal flow of urine, such as a kidney stone or a blood clot)
6. neurogenic bladder

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
