What Causes Elevated Heart Rate?
Question: I have a normal resting heart-rate of 87-89. My dentist told me that was too high. I am 50; have had asthma all my life and take Advair 50/500 and albuterol from 1-2 times daily. I have recently started a very active cardio workout regime. Should I have anything to be concerned about? Should it be a goal to get the RHR down?
Brief Answer:
You shouldn't worry about your heart rate it's within normal limits...
Detailed Answer:
Hi Bob!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
You shouldn't worry about your heart rate it's within normal limits (norm between 60-100 bpm).Your heart rate is around 90 bpm because you have had asthma and you are taking advair and albuterol that has as side effect tachycardia.
The best recommendation in your case is to continue with active cardio workout regime. Also it's recommended to avoid caffeine, alcohol and energy drink. you should take magnesium supplements.
Hope this was of help!
Wish you health!
