Symptoms are nausea and weakness, no pain. Had a fundoplication done 2 years ago. Have seen that Specialist, who did not seem concerned, but passed me on to see another Specialist who I was told would have more knowledge in that area. I had previously a blood test and a upper/abdo ultrasound requested by my G.P. The finding were a high lipase reading from the blood test and for the us/abdo two small polyps in the gallbladder 4mm adherent to the wall. No stone. Liver, gall bladder and bile ducts normal. Pancreas, aorta. epigastric structures, para-aortic regions, spleen and right kidney are normal. Oval echogenic lesion mid pole left kidney maximal 10mm. considered benign. Follow blood test, lipase reading normal. I am just getting another opinion. I have an appointment in July to see specialist and have just had another blood test done. All colonoscopys and endo. all up to date and O.K.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Pancreatitis is the most common cause of high lipase.
Since the repeat test showed normal lipase and you did not have any abdominal pain and your ultrasound scan showed normal pancreas, pancreatitis is less likely to be the cause. It could be due to some less significant cause and you can ignore than one reading.
Good to see that the endoscopy tests were normal.
Since the wekaness and nausea are non specific symptoms, a thorough evaluation has to be done if these symptoms are persistent. You can start with a complete blood count and a renal function test.
I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
