Question: HI doctor
My wife has just recovered from Dengue Fever 3 days ago and is discharged from hospital.. However her Patlets have increased to 225000 which is within the range but her SGOT Is 114 and SGOT is 128.. Kindly advice is it normal or do we need to do something about it....

Hi,

I find the liver enzymes were raised for sure. But there is no need to worry at this point. They would be raised for a couple of months. The reason they were raised could be either the infection itself or medicines to treat the Dengue fever.
There is increased activity of liver to detoxify the body. So naturally the enzymes are raised.
So wait for some more time up to two months before you retest the liver enzymes.
