What Causes Elevated Liver Enzymes Levels And Vomiting?
Insufficient history.
Detailed Answer:
hi.
thanks for posting query at HCM.
Vomiting has numerous causes and proper history may aid in reaching a diagnosis.
1 how many episodes did you experience of vomiting?
2 what other symptoms did you experience along with it?
3 did you have food poisoning?or did the treating physician rule out food poisoning?
4 do you vomit anything you eat?
5 did you vomit after taking metoclopramide?
elevated liver enzymes ( greater than twice the upper limit) indicates hepatitis. "vomiting" maybe one of the presenting symptoms of hepatitis. other sign/symptoms for hepatitis include jaundice, loss of appetite and right upper quadrant pain. Patient may experience all of these symptoms or some.
In case of hepatitis, cause should be investigated thoroughly.
further questions are welcomed.
look forward for the answers to questions asked in this reply.

Detailed Answer:
hi.
thanks for getting back to me and for providing all the details.
considering your age and current presentation especially "sudden loss of weight" along with vomiting - i would strongly recommend you to visit gastroenterologist and fix an appointment for undergoing endoscopic examination to rule out any malignant lesions in the gastrointestinal tract.
Endoscopic examination is advised if a patient has any ONE OR MORE of the "ALARM" symptom along with gastrointestinal symptoms:
A- Age>55
L- Loss of weight
A- Anemia
R- Rapid onset of progressive GI symptoms
M - Melena ( black stool or blood vomiting)
Furthermore,
Liver function Test and Ultrasound abdomen is also advised.
the results of aforementioned investigations would give a better picture to diagnose your current clinical scenario.
hope to answer your concern.
wish you good and sound health.
