What Causes Erectile Dysfunction In A Heart Paitent With Diabetes?

Question: I am 59 married and have two children. I had by pass seven years before and I am a diabetic patient taking insulin. The problem is erection not happening and I have to resort to masterbation while during other acts of sex with my wife. Is there any tablet that I can take which should not affect a heart patient? Now my sugar is under control for the past 3 weeks due to exercise, change of insulin and diet control. At least once in a week sex with wife is essential for happy life I feel. I had foreskin removal last year due to tightness and irritation and pain and had to apply Candid B frequently and Dr advised me to remove it and said it would improve the sexual intercourse. But did not happen and went other way after the foreskin removal. I take insulin two times and also diabetic sugar tablets two times, plus my cardiac medicines two times. Now the sugar is very much under control after exercise, food control and medication. Please advise me

One medicine called Tetrafol Plus containing methylfolate+mecobalamine+pyridoxal-5 phosphate is helpful in patients with erectile dysfunction with cardiac and diabetes problem.My personal experience in patient with diabetes is also good. It should be taken two times daily after meal.If you feel some improvement in 15 days, you should continue for 2 months at least to get optimum effect.This improvement can last up to 6 months, then course can be repeated. It works specifically in patients with homocystiene deficiency which is common in patients with cardiac problem and diabetes.
Being vitamin no major side effects of this medicine and you can take without any hesitation.

Other medicine is from PDE-5 inhibitor group.Among them tadalafil is good from safety point of view in patient with cardiac problem and diabetes.You can take it on required basis before 1.5-2 hours of sex.Its effect can also last on second day.If your blood pressure in control and cardiac activity is good you can start with 10 mg and increase up to 20 mg.Your cardiac doctor can give best advice regarding that.

In ayurvedik, ashwgnadha,shatawari and musli can be useful.But that also should be taken after consulting ayurvedik doctor in your case as cardiac history positive.

You can use garlic, cow milk and cow butter which is good from sex point of view and safe in cardiac and diabetes.

Thank you so much. These medicines the pharmacist will give across the counter or needs a prescription.
I will try and see the effect but I do hope the sugar now coming under control, this SD will diminish.

Yes, controlling diabetes and reducing weight can help.

As your problem would more be physiological than psychological but still you can go for couple sex counselling and learn Master & XXXXXXX Technique. It may help you and can reduce your requirement for medicines.It can be done by a qualified sexologist or psychiatrist.
