What Causes Erectile Dysfunction?
Question: I can hardly gain an erection. It feels as though it's been de-sensitized with a strange dark color patch underneath the penis where there is especially hardly any feeling at all. My libido (sex drive) is fine. I changed a diet recently that included large smoked salmon, 4-5 eggs, plus a Ferrous Sulfate Iron supplement(for no reason other than to re-gain my hair). Right around the time I made these changes I noticed a lack of energy and erectile dysfunction. If it is in fact iron overload can my erectile dysfunction be reversed? And
Brief Answer:
Erectile dysfunction
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
It is very difficult to exactly pinpoint the cause of your erectile dysfunction. Your dietary modifications including the use of iron supplements is not going to cause erectile dysfunction.
I am concerned about the dark patch. I am concerned whether it is old collected blood secondary to some minor trauma that you did not notice. The trauma can happen even with vigorous intercourse and may go unnoticed. The unnoticed trauma can be the cause of your erectile dysfunction. It shall recover only with time; usually 6-8 weeks.
Take care
