Brief Answer:
not a known cause
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
This is not one of the causes that is normally associated with this condition.
The common causes are common cold and sinusitis. Other causes are pollution, smoking , obesity (due to deposition of fat along the passage way), nasal polyps.
Very rarely can be due to more serious causes such as a tumor.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Thank-you for the response.
I was diagnosed with ETD last September which seemed to coincide with having my head next to a very loud speaker in a club for about 10 seconds. My ear actually touched the metal cage of the speaker.
I still feel like my ears are full and have crunching sounds when I open my mouth in both ears. I can't pop my ears either annoyingly enough. When I went to the doctors they checked my ears and said fluid could be seen behind my right ear drum.
It must therefore be another reason for the ETD; as I did have a sore throat and blocked nose for about 4 months after being in the club. I just assumed it may be linked.
