What Causes Excessive Bleeding During A Dental Work?
Question: Dr. Indranil XXXXXXX please
"I have been doing a breathing routine the past two years" - just to refresh your memory. How do
we identify ourselves to ask more questions? Further to my initial inquiry. My breathing has made my
blood highly oxygenated and thin. Has oxygen accomplished what a blood thinner does, but WITH
many health benefits.
Thanks again, XXXXXXX XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
blood lipids are good
Detailed Answer:
Your cholesterol and triglycerides are looking better as compared to before. If this is without statin group of lipid lowering drugs then the breathing routine has done good job.
However, the dentist has made a subjective observation. I don't think you should look too much into it. If lab tests like bleeding time or clotting time confirms it then only we can say that your blood has become less prone to clotting. But too much of that is not good as it can increase chances of bleeding.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Doctor - just one follow up.
That's a good point - too much might cause bleeding. So far, cuts have
clotted just as quickly as ever, and healed faster. I only ever took a blood
thinner for one month and that was many years ago, when my AFIB was
considered more serious. Again, AFIB is gone.
Just to be careful that the breathing doesn't oxygenate to a point where there
is a risk of bleeding, I have cut back about 40% on my breathing routine in the past few weeks. In a month or so I will get another blood test. My question is - can my Doctor refer me to a lab to test accurate "bleeding time/clotting time".
Thanks again. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
don't think oxygenation increases bleeding time or clotting time
Detailed Answer:
I did not mean time, I just want to exclude any other process going on (medicines, disease) which can increase bleeding or clotting times.
Just breathing exercises can't increase these to abnormally high values.
